Antique English pewter 1 pint measure by Joseph Hart Mortimer of Exeter. The measure has good verification and makers marks. The measure has a double scroll handle with fish tail terminal.

Circa 1836.

The condition is good with a lightly polished finish. There are no repairs.

Makers mark: to inside of base and also to the rim left of the handle, mark of Joseph Hart Mortimer. (PS18491).

Antique English pewter 1 pint measure by William McKenzie of Birmingham, the measure is engraved to the front 'C CHAMBERLAIN NORTON'. The measure has good verification marks including a 'Crown WR'. There is also the letter 'C' impressed into the top of the handle.

Circa 1825-1841.

The condition is good with a lightly polished finish. There are no repairs.

Makers mark: to inside of base, mark of William McKenzie of Birmingham. (PS6331, OP3042), along with an 'X'

Verification marks:
'Crown VR484' Hertford County.
'LYSTA .P.' St Albans Liberty.
'Crown WR' William 1V verification.
There are also two 'Crowned X' marks and the word 'PINT' inscribed to the front.

Good George 1V Imperial Standard stamps to the front along with clear Worcester county verifications.
Verification marks to the left of handle, VR534 for Worcester County; stamped ‘PINT’ and very clear makers marks. The inside base also carries a ‘Crowned X’ makers ‘ICC’ mark and the words ‘IMPERIAL STANDARD’
The tankards are in excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish. There are no repairs or damage.

Antique English pewter 1 pint measure of truncated cone form, standing on a flared foot, there is a fillet to the body and some incised banding.
The measure is clearly marked to the front with an excellent Liverpool verification mark and has a ‘George 1V IMPERIAL PINT’ stamp to the front.
The makers mark, ‘MORGAN’ is inside the base.
The condition is excellent with a dull grey polished finish.

There is a ‘1/2 PINT’ capacity label to the front of the rim, there are no verification marks.
The inside base has the Abbot mark within two circles.
The front of the measure is engraved with the initials ‘JB’.
The measure is in good condition with signs of use, it retains a natural silver grey patina.

Antique English pewter U shaped 1 quart measure with broad flared foot; double scroll handle with fishtail terminal, decorative fillets to the drum. Made by Harton & Son of High Holborn, London.
Verification marks to the right of handle, for Rochester City, Kent and a ‘QUART’ stamp. There is a clear makers mark to the left of the handle.
The measure is engraved with the initials ‘JW’ to the front and the name of the ‘Globe & Laurel’ is engraved to the base. This Public House was in Gillingham, Kent.
The measure is in excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish. There are no repairs or damage.

Antique English pewter 1 quart spouted measure with double dome lid; by Samuel Cocks of London, who is recorded as working in 1819.
The measure is of ‘U’ shaped form with a single banded fillet to the body. The double dome lid has an open chair back thumb piece; the handle is double scroll with fishtail terminal. The measure stands on a large flared foot.
The hall marks of Samuel Cocks are found to the left of the handle. There are no verification marks.
The condition is excellent with a polished silver grey finish; there are some traces of oxide.

Antique English pewter two handled ‘loving’ cup of 1 pint capacity. The cup stands on a flared foot with large strap handles, each with four heavily incised lines, the upper and lower terminals of the handle are of a ‘Y’ form.
There are clear maker’s marks to the rim; there are no capacity verification marks.
The condition is good, there are traces of a repair to the lower handle terminal, and the cup is a polished silver grey with traces of oxide.

Antique English pewter lidded tankard, 1 quart Old English Wine Standard.

Circa 1780.

A fine tankard with double dome lid, bulbous drum with fillet on a large flared foot.

Double scroll handle with fishtail terminal.

Open chair back thumb piece.

The hinge to the lid looks to be original with no repair.

There are rubbed makers marks to the left of the handle.

I have measured the capacity and it is about 33 fl oz; so 1 quart to the Old English Wine Standard.

The tankard has a polished silver grey finish, there is possibly a repair to the handle terminal (see detailed images).

Weight: 890g

Height to top of dome lid: 19cm (7.5in).
