Description
Antique Scottish pewter 1 quart spouted measure of tulip shape, standing on a large flared foot, the handle is double scroll with fish tail terminal.The measure is clearly marked to the left of the handle ‘GLASw.53’ along with a very clear example of the city arms, ‘a tree with a bird on top, a bell hanging from the tree, a salmon with a ring in its mouth across the tree’. There is also an inspection mark to the right and left of the handle that has been applied upside down, it looks like ‘B of S’, which is for ‘Stirling Royal Burgh’.
The condition is excellent with a dull grey polished finish.
