Description
Antique English pewter 1 quart spouted measure with double dome lid; by Samuel Cocks of London, who is recorded as working in 1819.The measure is of ‘U’ shaped form with a single banded fillet to the body. The double dome lid has an open chair back thumb piece; the handle is double scroll with fishtail terminal. The measure stands on a large flared foot.
The hall marks of Samuel Cocks are found to the left of the handle. There are no verification marks.
The condition is excellent with a polished silver grey finish; there are some traces of oxide.
