Description
Antique Irish pewter 1 pint measure, by Joseph Austen & son of Cork, Ireland. The measure has a plain body with slightly flared foot, and ‘C’ shape handle.Verification marks to the right of handle, ‘Irish Harp’, ‘Crown ER VR’, stamped ‘1 PINT’, initials ‘J F’ stamped to front.
There is a very good Touch mark to the inside of the base for ‘Austen & Son, 91 North Main Street, IMPERIAL’.
The measure is in good condition with a silver grey finish with some oxide patches. There are numerous dents and bumps consistent with age and use, there are two small splits to the rim and an old solder repair to the base.
