Description
Description:A good set of four antique English pewter plain rim plates of 9.750 inch diameter. The front rim of each plate has a very well engraved set of ownership initials 'HCS'.
The reverse of each plate has a touchmark for T & H Compton (Townsend & Henry Compton) of London, who worked 1814 - 1835. There is also a 'superfine hardmetal' mark and a crowned X.
Condition:
The plates are in excellent condition with a very lightly polished finish to the front, with some small traces of oxide. The reverse is unpolished with some light oxide.
Repairs: There are no repairs.
Size: 9.750 inch diameter (25.00cm).
