Description: Irish Half-gallon capacity church flagon of typical Dublin style, with a bold swan's neck handle, double-dome lid, reeded spout and reeded chairback thumbpiece, probably by John Heaney of Dublin who worked 1763 - 1807. These flagon were for communion use in Churches. Literature: See D. Hall, Types of Irish Pewter, In association with the National Museum of Ireland (2005), pp. 23 - 24, for further illustrated examples. This flagon is one of a pair, the other is stock number P-138b, if the pair are purchased I will discount the total price by 10%. Condition: Excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish and some small traces of light oxide. Repairs: There is an old 'waterproofing' seal to the underside base rim.
