Description

A good example of a Scottish pewter crested tappit hen of 'Scots Pint' capacity.
The tappit hen is of typical shouldered form with multiple incised bands to the shouldered body which stands on a foot rim with incised banding above. The domed lid has an acorn knop and erect thumb piece. There is a plouk inside the top, capacity to this point is 60floz. There are very good linen marks where the handle joins the body and on the lid.
Condition:
Excellent condition with a lightly polished silver grey finish and some small traces of light oxide. The are a few age related knocks as one would expect.
Repairs: There are no repairs that I could detect.

Height to top of knop: 12.00 in (30.00cm).
Base diameter: 5.00in (12.70cm).
